Role Overview:
As a Solutions Software Engineer, you will be a critical technical driver within the Pre-Sales team, blending high-level software engineering with strategic client consulting. This role is designed for an engineer who enjoys the "build" but wants to be closer to the business impact. You will own the "technical win" by configuring and modifying the Convr platform to meet the complex needs of commercial insurance prospects. You will utilize Python and Java to ensure our demo environments and client pilots are technically sound, while simultaneously partnering with Business Development to architect the future of "Frictionless Underwriting" for C-level executives.
Who You Are:
- Action-Oriented Engineer: A proactive self-starter who is comfortable navigating both a terminal and a boardroom.
- Analytical Problem Solver: You have a methodical approach to preparation and execution, with a passion for using data to transform the insurance industry.
- Technical Communicator: You possess excellent interpersonal skills and can articulate complex engineering concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- The "Multilingual" Engineer: You speak both "Code" and "Coverage." You can transition seamlessly from a technical debugging session to a high-level discussion on P&C risk assessment.
What You’ll be Doing:
- Technical Configuration & Engineering
- Act as the primary engineer for the pre-sales cycle. Construct, modify, and configure code in Python and Java to tailor the Convr platform to specific prospect requirements.
- Own the "stabilization and sizzle" of our AI demo environments. Ensure system upgrades are tested, environment-ready, and optimized to deliver high-performance, reliable demonstrations.
- Assist in architecting software solutions for complex, high-volume data environments, ensuring that all pre-sales configurations align with our core platform roadmap and engineering standards.
- Strategic Pre-Sales & Solutioning
- Lead discovery sessions to understand a customer’s business objectives. Present a vision of the solution that addresses underwriting challenges and delivers a competitive advantage.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert in commercial P&C insurance. Lead workshops and whiteboarding sessions with C-level executives, using storytelling and data to convey the value of Convr’s AI capabilities.
- Test and debug programs during the pilot phase. Document technical observations from prospects to influence future product features and ensure a seamless handoff to the Customer Success and Implementation teams.
- Collaboration & Practice Building
- Partner with Business Development Executives to meet revenue goals by owning the functional and technical validation of the platform.
- Serve as a key member of the pre-sales engineering practice, building reusable code modules, best practice documentation, and technical collateral for the global team.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Software Engineering: 5+ years of professional experience coding in Python and Java within an Agile environment.
- Technical Stack: 5+ years of experience with Enterprise Applications, Docker, Kubernetes, and complex data analysis.
- Executive Presence: Proven ability to lead group discussions and workshops with C-suite executives in a problem-solving capacity.
- Experience within the Property & Casualty insurance industry is a plus!
Benefits & Compensation
- Remote work opportunities
- Flexible Paid Time Off
- Company Paid Holidays
- Insurance Coverage (medical, dental, vision, short-term & long-term disability, life insurance, and accident coverage)
- 401K
- Paid Parental Leave
- The final compensation will be determined based on factors such as location, experience, education, skills, and industry knowledge.
