Job Summary
The Accountant is a core member of Steelhead’s Finance team, responsible for day-to-day
bookkeeping, month-end close activities, and accounts payable and receivable. You will communicate professionally with customers and vendors on billing and payment matters, collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, RevOps, and Customer Success, and help maintain the accuracy of Steelhead’s financial records as we scale. This role offers a clear path toward accounting management and is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, detail-oriented, and excited to grow with a fast-moving software company.
Your Responsibilities as an Accountant
Accounting & Month-End Close
• Maintain daily bookkeeping and bank reconciliations in QuickBooks Online
• Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and revenue reporting schedules
• Process AP/AR transactions; manage invoicing, vendor payments, and expense reporting
• Read and interpret sales contracts to ensure accurate billing and revenue treatment
Financial Reporting
• Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reports for leadership
• Build and maintain key Excel reports; support SaaS metrics reporting (MRR, ARR, deferred
revenue)
• Respond to ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests from the leadership team
Communication & Collaboration
• Communicate with customers and vendors on billing, payments, and inquiries
• Partner with Sales, RevOps, and Customer Success to keep revenue data accurate and up to
date
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support business operations as the company scales

Required Qualifications
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, or equivalent knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and
accrual accounting
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, or similar accounting software
• Hands-on AP and AR experience, including expense reporting and bank reconciliation
• Ability to read and understand sales contracts
• Proficiency in Excel; strong math and analytical skills
• Strong communication skills — comfortable working with customers, vendors, and
cross-functional teams
• Personal and professional profile aligned with Steelhead’s core values
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Prior SaaS company experience
• Experience with revenue recognition software (e.g., Maxio)
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new accounting systems and processes
Compensation:
$65,000 + participation in Steelhead’s Employee Appreciation Rights (EAR)
program
